It just keeps on getting better around here! We are (once again) thrilled to be able to bring to you a new line of loudspeakers that goes beyond the usual loudspeakers you find in most audio stores. The Bohlender-Graebener Corporation (known as BG Corp) is a Nevada based corporation. Yes, these speakers are made in the USA! BG Corp Z Series speakers are truly something different. Along with their dual 6 1/2" Neodymium Magnet woofers, these three-way speakers have the finest planar ribbon midrange and tweeter units around. They have a small footprint, narrow and unobtrusive, and yet produce prodigious bass to match the sweet, smooth, dynamic, fast, detailed and always musical planar ribbon mids and tweeter—you will like these speakers. And, if you're like so many of our customers who have to fit their loudspeakers into narrow spaces, you're going to love them (and so will your spouse!).

The Z-92 and Z-62 speakers pictured to the right are at the top of the Z Series but still are so reasonably priced that you won't believe your ears. The floor standing Z 92 goes for just $2,495 a pair and the Z-62 Center channel speaker is just $999. Stepping down a bit in size (but not so far in performance) is the Z-7 Floorstander (pictured below). It sells for just $999 a pair!! With its matching Center Channel speaker (Z-5, $399), the Z-1 bookshelf speakers ($599 a pair) and the Z-Sub (just $599), you can put together one seriously good 5.1 home theater speaker system that puts many much more expensive systems to shame.

The BG speakers have been collecting awards from Stereophile Magazine, The Abso!ute Sound Magazine and a host of others. The Z-7 was selected as The Absolute Sound's "Affordable Loudspeaker of the Year" in 2004 and a number of the BG speakers have enjoyed "Recommended Component" listings in these magazines.

When the BG sales rep brought these speakers over for us to audition, I was sold in the first 2 minutes. We initially brought in the Jaton amp for evaluation and to see if our customers liked it. Well, the Operetta was a huge hit with all of our customers who gave it a listen and we took orders for several of them. So, Jaton takes its place here among our other stellar products as a regular. These Jaton units present very high value with excellent musicality and build quality. Nice!

The Operetta solid-state amp is one you must hear to believe. And did we mention accessories galore?

The on-line store will also feature an extensive array of both home audio and home theater electronics, loudspeakers and accessories to help make your home entertainment experience all that it should be. This will probably be the first department that we open up in our on-line store. We've been busily lining up the vendors and the list just keeps on growing. And as you would expect from Sweet Home Audio, the home of beautiful sound, we will have an extensive lineup of analog products: turntables, cartridges, phono preamps, record cleaning products and supplies. You can get your new turntable from us, knowing that you're dealing with music lovers who actually know what they're talking about and are expert at setting up and installing turntables and all the rest.

We've gotten a LOT of interest in our consignment department since we announced the several "levels" that we now offer. You can look forward to an expanded used and consignment department as more products roll in. To reiterate our consignment rate policy, here are the particulars:

At consignment businesses, consignment fees typically run as high as 50% and 60%. But we have kept ours at 40% for years. Full service means we display, advertise, present and demonstrate your gear, just as we do our own new gear. We handle any customer inquiries (send them pictures, specs and other relevant information); we process the payment and deliver the gear to the buyer; we handle after-purchase questions and issues and mail you a check for the net proceeds from the sale. For full-service consignment, Consignment Level 3, the fee is 40%.

Consignment Level 2—the same as Level Three, but you apply the proceeds of your full-service consignment sale to purchases here at Sweet Home Audio. For Consignment Level 2, the fee is 25%.

Consignment Level 1—the same as Level Two, but you keep the gear until it’s sold. We advertise and promote your used units, find a buyer and handle customer questions and the sale as usual. But once it’s sold, you deliver it to the buyer yourself. And we apply the net proceeds of the sale to your Sweet Home Audio account. For Consignment Level 1, the fee is 15%.

The P1000 is a 7 channel amp that delivers an honest 135 watts per channel into 8 ohm loudspeakers. That’s with all channels driven across the full audio spectrum at incredibly low distortion levels.
