Rogue Audio's Newest Dealer!

y audiophile persona felt that, with the DX, there was a greater sense of ease, of you-know-whatability to the imaging, of involvement with the overall sound. And that's what it's all about, even without taking into consideration the DX's ease of setup and use. Highly recommended. I said highly.

We are proud to introduce Rogue Audio to our music loving fans

If you love music that has the warmth, texture and nuance of a live performance, you really should check out just how close good tube electronics get to the realism of live music.  As did I, you just might discover your music collection all over again.  We have represented some of the best examples of this art for many years.  We now, at long last, bring to you the quite amazing tube electronics from Rogue Audio:  beautifully crafted, wonderfully musical and VERY reasonably priced.

We've brought in a number of these wonders:

Stereo 100 ($3,495)

From Rogue Audio web site:  "Whether your tastes run to the delicate strains of the violin or the wail of the electric guitar, the Rogue Stereo 100 power amplifier will thrill you with its precision, musicality, and impact. And with 100 watts of pure tube power, you can be sure that your amplifier won’t run out of steam before the musicians do. The heart of the Stereo 100 consists of four matched KT120 output tubes operating in push-pull configuration. A massive fully regulated power supply ensures that low frequency information will not go unheard, and that the power and attack of transient musical passages will be recreated in full. And with a simple flip of a switch, audiophiles can choose between "pure triode" and "ultra-linear" operation to suit their tastes and power requirements. The transparency and power of the Stereo 100 is testimony to a design that truly transcends that of the competition."

"Something very special has happened in the universe of audio components and you can benefit from this important milestone. We are all familiar with terms such as “good for the money” and “sets a new standard at its price point” and “plays above its class” and similar ideas that attempt to compare the sound of a product with its cost. Rogue Audio has introduced the Stereo 100 power amplifier, at $3,495, that offers better performance than anyone has offered up to now – possibly at any price.

The Rogue Audio Stereo 100 power amplifier is a GREAT product. I have heard no other amp under $15,000 that has comparable levels of control, clarity and consistency of tone. It was a pleasure working with Mark O’Brien and Rogue Audio on this review, and I look forward to listening to music every day with this fine amplifier in my system. Of course I purchased the review sample. It was one of the easiest buying decisions in my seemingly endless quest for great sound."  10Audio, http://www.10audio.com/rogue_stereo100.htm

RP-5 Preamplifier ($3,495)

From the Rogue Audio web site:  "The RP-5 is our first preamplifier based on the groundbreaking new RP-X platform. Silky smooth yet extraordinarily high tech, the RP-5 sets a new benchmark in performance and functionality. Utilizing four 12AU7 tubes in a mu-follower configuration, the computer optimized circuitry boasts outstanding sonics as well as industry leading specs.

The RP-5 offers much more than just sonic excellence with numerous features to further enhance your listening experience. The onboard MM/MC phono has user adjustable gain settings ranging from 40 to 60 dB. A wide variety of loading options means your favorite cartridge can be configured to sound its very best. A tube based headphone circuit offers smooth and detailed sound for your late night personal audio sessions. Other features include home theater inputs, a processor loop and mono button. The ten button remote allows you to conveniently access volume, balance, selector, mute, mono and on/off from your listening position."

"The Rogue RP-5, at $3500, is a tremendous value. The tubed components field in that price range is rather crowded, but I believe Rogue has a real class leader here. The sonics are outstanding, and the build quality is off the charts good. What sets the RP-5 apart is the coupling of great sound with a treasure trove of features. A phono input, dual variable outputs, fixed outputs, an excellent headphone amp, a crystal clear LED display, balance control, a mono switch, and remote control make this a “full service” preamplifier in my book.

The RP-5 worked beautifully with all the amplifiers I used with, as detailed above. I found it difficult to find fault with it. Perhaps only side by side auditioning with Rogue’s top models would reveal any comparative shortcomings. As a side note, the RP-5 paired with the previously mentioned Stereo 100 power amp, (which I spent quite a bit of time with previously) would yield, in my estimation, a superb combo which would provide tube lovers a lifetime of great sound for $7000 total.

To put some icing on the cake, Rogue products are made in the U.S.A. and backed by a generous warranty. In fact, Rogue has invested heavily in a new factory they are in the process of building. Their dedication to improving their products, quality control, and offering fairly priced gear is highly commendable. The Rogue RP-5 is a great product, and I would recommend those looking for a keeper of a full function tube preamplifier to audition it." Audio/Video Revolution,

Cronus Magnum III Integrated Amplifier ($2,995)

NOW SHIPPING!  The latest version of the award winning Cronus Magnum is here!

With a wide range of serious upgrades, this new Cronus Magnum III is truly the best bargain in tube integrated amps at anywhere near this price.  Here's a description from Mark O'Brien of Rogue Audio:

"We are pleased to announce that we [have released] the new Cronus Magnum 3 which features a host of upgrades over the current version.

One of the most exciting upgrades is the ability to operate the CM3 in Triode mode. An external switch flips between ultralinear (100WPC) and triode (60WPC) operation. The CM3 also sports a completely new phono [section] that can now accommodate low output cartridges. The new phono has user adjustable loading, selectable gain of 44 dB and 58 dB, low noise circuitry, and most importantly sounds terrific.

The headphone amplifier is also completely new and is a direct derivative of our award winning RH-5 headphone amp. The new design is much more comprehensive and features MOSFET buffers on the outputs.  This headphone amp sounds great and will drive even the most difficult headphones.

The line level circuitry has also been improved and now features a super low noise floor and better overall sonics.

Finally, the three button metal remote is back and included with every unit!" - Mark O'Brien

From the Rogue Audio Web site: "The award winning Cronus Magnum has garnered an enviable reputation in the high end audio world. Even at its attainable price, it outperforms other integrated amps costing many times more. The pure tube design provides a smooth, almost liquid sound that has made this amp a reviewer favorite. With circuitry borrowed from our most advanced amplifier designs, the Cronus Magnum's 100WPC effortlessly reproduces even the most demanding musical passages. Featuring a headphone amplifier and MM phono preamplifier the Cronus Magnum provides a complete solution to your amplifier needs.

From a technical standpoint the Cronus uses a triode preamplifier coupled to our excellent Atlas Magnum power amplifier. A large oversized linear power supply stores tremendous energy for low frequency response and dynamic headroom. The tube circuitry is cutting edge with short signal paths exacted in a low noise design. Finally, precision components are used to provide the transparency and air that are so critical to accurate musical reproduction."

"The reputation that Rogue Audio has developed through the years with the Cronus Magnum series of products has been well earned. Spending months with the Cronus Magnum 11 made me realize how good Mark O’Brien designs and builds products. The Cronus Magnum 11 is built in the US  and sold for $2500 making it truly one of the greatest value tube amplifiers in production today . The Cronus 11 offers world  class amplification with a excellent phono stage  and can deliver 100W of tube magic .  The amplifier has sufficient  power to drive most any floor standing or monitor speaker easily. The Magnum 11 offers outstanding musicality and one of the most quiet tube amplifiers I have experienced. It offers the buyer a musical instrument designed to provide years of trouble free musicality. Using two different systems the Cronus Magnum 11 never disappointed or faltered and always delivered exceptional sound.

The amplifier can use KT120, KT88, KT77 and 6550 tubes.  The design allows for easy biasing so any non-engineer can easily adjust the biasing. The hardest thing to do with the Rogue Cronus  Magnum 11 is to lift the amplifier off the ground with its 60 pounds (that’s right folks) of pure atomic build quality. Built and designed by Mark O’Brien the Cronus Magnum 11 always delivers musicality and more important terrific engineering with outstanding value. The Cronus Magnum 11 sounded excellent in both of my systems with different sources and speakers. The sound was so captivating, I purchased the review sample. High praise indeed for a company dedicated to providing the best products in the marketplace that anyone who loves music can easily buy and enjoy.  The Cronus Magnum 11 is designed for music lovers and never disappoints in performance, sound or value. Recommended for anyone needing a world-class tube amplifier that just plays music."  Headphone Guru, https://headphone.guru/rogue-cronus-magnum-11-the-integrated-sensation/

Sphinx V2 Integrated Amplifier ($1,495)

From the Rogue Audio web site:  "Dynamic, transparent, and profoundly musical, the Rogue Sphinx sets a new standard in affordable integrated amplifiers. Utilizing sophisticated circuitry borrowed from our most advanced designs, the Sphinx is able to outperform separates costing far more than this single box design. And with 100 watts of hybrid power, this integrated is capable of realistic volume levels that will rival the clarity and presence of the original performance.

The Sphinx contains a discrete headphone amplifier and an excellent phono section compatable with high output MM and MC cartridges. Active and fixed outputs allow for the addition of a subwoofer or other outboard devices. A high capacity linear power supply provides tremendous energy storage to recreate the deepest bass passages while various regulated power supply stages provide ultra smooth sound in the midrange and treble. The machined aluminum faceplate is available in either black or silver to compliment the rest of your components and the optional remote further adds the convenience of remote volume operation."

"Like the mythical, half-beast, half-human creature for which it’s named, the Sphinx embodies the best of two worlds. The soul of the music that tubes seem so adept at imparting is married to the high-efficiency brawn of a resolving class-D amp. The benefits of both are retained and the weaknesses offset, with a lovely synergy in all that remains. Mark O’Brien, proprietor of Rogue Audio, told me that one of his customers uses a Sphinx with speakers costing $50,000/pair. Having used the Sphinx with the Vivid Audio V1.5 ($7500/pair) and Cabasse Pacific 3 ($16,000/pair), I was in no great hurry to hook up my reference Hegel Music Systems H300 integrated amplifier-DAC. Old school or not, the Sphinx was quite the sophisticated character."  SoundStage, https://www.soundstageaccess.com/index.php/equipment-reviews/472-rogue-audio-sphinx-integrated-amplifier

We are the exclusive dealer in the Tampa Bay area for the world renowned Nola loudspeakers

We have been a HUGE fan of the loudspeakers designed and built by audio legend Carl Marchisotto.  From his years with Dahlquist, though his outstanding creations with Alon and, for the past recent years, with the evolution of his speaker designs, Nola Loudspeakers.

We now have the Brio Quatro (two Brio speakers and two Brio Subwoofers) in our store.

These are the perfect speakers for music lovers who value realistic music reproduction yet have a small listening area or simply who want great sound without having huge speakers in their room.

NOLA introduced its Brio Trio satellite/ subwoofer loudspeaker system at CES 2016: a compact, high-end three-piece package featuring NOLAs hallmark open baffle design and a novel "1½ way" enclosure for the main speakers.

The Brio Trio lives up to its name with sonic vitality and dynamic realism that far exceeds its compact size. Its ideal for use as a desktop monitor system or a top quality 2.1 channel system in smaller rooms or where space is limited yet uncompromising sound is desired.

Measuring just 5½ by 5½ by 12 inches, the Brio main speaker employs two identical 3½ inch (90 mm) drivers, with the upper driver operating in an open baffle as a dipole and the lower driver mounted in a ported chamber. This configuration combines the natural imaging and expansive soundstage provided by the open baffle mounting with the dynamic presence and impact of the enclosure-mounted driver.

The matching subwoofer utilizes an 8-inch, long-throw, high-power-handling bass driver in a sealed enclosure, powered by a Class A/B 250-watt amplifier. NOLA chose Class A/B rather than the more typically used Class D subwoofer amplifier topology because of the A/B designs superior sound quality. The amplifier is a smaller version of the one used in NOLAs T Bolt subwoofer.

The subwoofer provides continuously variable level and crossover frequency controls (from 40Hz-180Hz, 24dB/octave), 6dB at 35Hz switchable EQ, a phase switch and line-level and speaker-level inputs, enabling it to be seamlessly matched to the Brio main speakers and deliver optimum performance in any system and room.

Performance achieved is far beyond expectations for this type of system.

The Nola Brio Trio satellite/subwoofer system is available now in gloss black finish at $3500; the Brio Quatro goes for $5,000.

"First, I must admit that I'm a huge fan of NOLA loudspeakers. I'm an owner of NOLA's Baby Grand Reference Gold loudspeakers and was looking for a highly portable, desktop / book shelf speaker that captured some of the magic of my large reference loudspeakers in a smaller form factor that I could use in my office. I'm as obsessive about sonics as the most discerning audiophile, and I can tell you that I am smitten by these little speakers. They produce the same live, "as if you were there" sound for which NOLA loudspeakers are known and highly regarded at a highly attractive value. It's truly amazing how BIG and lifelike of a sound the BRIOs produce with excellent resolution, balance, dynamic range and imaging whether listened to in near-field range as a desktop monitor or in a midfield configuration. But most of all, what the BRIOs excel at is disappearing and not getting in the way of the music...an elusive quality shared by all of Carl Marshisotto's amazing loudspeaker creations."  Music lover, Tyler Battligia (posted at https://www.amazon.com/Nola-1-NOLA-Brio/product-reviews/B00SU0R9AG.
