Award Winning Performance Nola Loudspeakers
Carl Marchesotto is an audio wizard and a pure genius at loudspeaker design. His di-polar loudspeakers have been winning awards and accumulating accolades for decades now. The new Viper and Reference series are his best yet. We have the Viper IIa and Viper Ia on our showroom floor for you to audition. Very, very nice! Here is another perspective courtesy of James Darby in his recent StereoMojo review of the $55,000 Baby Grand loudspeakers from Nola. You'll note that he indicates that the Viper speakers give a huge amount of the over-the-top performance of the Baby Grand's for WAY LESS money. Here's a picture of the Baby's too:
"There is nothing "baby" about the Baby Grand's. Perhaps they might be better dubbed the Concert Grands, because the sound is huge and uncannily concert-like. These do not suffer from the very contagious "Hi-Fi-itis" that plagues most speakers, even in this price range. If there is a more natural sounding speaker system out there, please let me know. I have heard thousands over the years and I can't think of any. There was never a sense of any sound coming from the towers. Utterly invisible. And they will play very loud without a sense of strain, something I confirmed when I inserted the Halcro with its extra 380 wpc. This was, of course, after Carl and Marilyn were long safely back in New York (where he hand makes the speakers) and out of hearing range! I honestly think Carl would not have been too offended by the Class D sound since it was being fed by a tube DAC (Xindak) and the Doge tube preamp. There was even more detail and speed, but some of the fullness was lost to a thinner presentation, but lordy did that “Pirates” track take and absolutely roar.

Consignment Department We've gotten a LOT of interest in our consignment department since we announced the "levels" that we now offer. You can look forward to an attractive and ever expanding list of consignment items every month. To reiterate our consignment policy, here are the particulars: At consignment businesses, consignment fees typically run as high as 50% and 60%. But we have kept ours at 40% for years. CONSIGNMENT OPTION 1
This is full-service consignment. Full service means we display, advertise, present and demonstrate your
gear, just as we do our own new gear. We handle any customer inquiries
(send them pictures, specs and other relevant information) and find a buyer; we process the
payment and deliver the gear to the buyer; we handle after-purchase questions
and issues and mail you a check for the net proceeds from the sale.
For full-service consignment, Consignment Option 1,
the fee is 40%. CONSIGNMENT OPTION 2 Consignment Level 2 is the same as Level 1, but you keep the gear until it’s sold. We advertise and promote your gear, handle customer inquiries (send them pictures, specs and other relevant information), find a buyer and handle the sale. But once it’s sold, you deliver the item to the buyer yourself. We send you a check for your net proceeds from the sale. For Consignment Option 2, the fee is 25%. Increase Your Proceeds by 10%: This is simple. If you leave your proceeds from the sale on account with us to apply to your own product purchases here at Sweet Home Audio, we reduce our consignment fee by 10%. So, our fee becomes 30% (down from 40%) for full-service consignment, OR it becomes 15% (down from 25%) for consignment sales where you handle the delivery to the customer. IMPORTANT NOTE: When we sell a used item, we do our very best to represent the product exactly as it is. This is very important! One of our most critical operating principles is that "we deliver what we promise." This is not just a slogan for us but the way we actually operate. When we have the used item here in our store, we can verify the operational status and physical condition of the products. When we don't, we try to get pictures and other information about the items so that we gain confidence that the product is as stated. In these cases, we also delay payment until the buying customer has received the item and verified that it truly is as promised. Existing agreements: Needless to say (but here it is anyway!), all current consignments that we now have will continue under whatever agreement was made at the time of the consignment. The above Consignment Levels apply to all new consignments. Of course, our policy to deliver what we promise applies to everything we do.
