The Essence Reference

Reference Power Distributor

Essence Reference Power Distributor

From the ESP web site:

A Worthy Companion
What's so special about a power distributor? Everything when it is destined to bear "The Essence" name! The Essence Reference Power Distributor is designed to be the perfect match to the Reference power cord.

Interdisciplinary Approach To Design
The Essence Reference Power Distributor an example of ESP's interdisciplinary engineering approach to achieve the ultimate in refined performance. It simply is not enough to just be concerned with the electrical circuitry. The mechanical chassis design aspects are critically important to achieve the highest level of operational performance. Why you ask? Because electrical circuitry exposed to vibration causes parasitic "eddy" currents, which compromise clarity, resolution and overall performance.

Form Follows Function
The Power Distributor's cylindrical shape is inherently rigid. The longitudinal ribbed surface constantly varies wall thickness to enhance its self-damping properties. Extruded aluminum was also chosen for its shielding characteristics. The end caps are made from Polycarbonate, the same material that you car's headlights are made, because of its superior impact resistance.

Beauty More Than Skin Deep
When you initially hold the Power Distributor in your hands, you feel its solidity and weight. Tap on the chassis walls and you'll notice the unit is acoustically "dead" meaning there are no resonances. This level of immunity to vibration is achieved by filling the Power Distributor with a proprietary damping material, which coats the inner chassis walls and encapsulates the internal wiring.

Receptacles Matter!
The Reference power distributor incorporates custom manufactured receptacles, built to our specifications by Leviton. These hospital-grade, isolated ground outlets include line and neutral contacts that are made from electrical grade bronze without nickel plating. Why? They sound better because bronze has significantly more copper content than brass.

Our unit is in excellent condition - no box or manual

Price is just $499 (new it was $1,600).
