Conrad-johnson has long been known for their outrageously good tube amplifiers (preamps and power amps). Their current flagship preamp is the $20,000 GAT which is arguably the best preamp on the planet. C-J's latest entry may very well be their greatest achievement yet: the ET3 "Baby GAT" preamp. I'll quote a bit from C-J's Dealer News brief on the ET3: "Our new entry-level preamplifier, the ET3, can be expected to set new standards of performance in its market segment. It is distinctly a "baby" GAT. The family resemblance is much more than skin deep. The line-stage circuit of the ET3 is essentially the same as that of the GAT and, especially noteworthy, the ET3 features a relay operated discrete level control circuit which is virtually the same as that found in the more expensive GAT and CT5 line stages. Functionally, the ET3 offers the same highly flexible I/O facilities as found in the GAT. There are six separate line-level inputs (including one Tape Loop), plus a Theater Loop that facilitates use in a home theater system. All functions are controlled by the infra-red remote control." And the price of this baby GAT? The base model line-stage is available for a mere $2,500. Add the TEA1 based phono stage for only $850. Sun Ra: "Easy Listening for Intergalactic Travel"
Here's Ed Sapiega's latest edition of "Jazz, Man" for your edification and reading pleasure.Sun Ra: From outside of our universe Sun Ra (1914 – 1993) was one of the more unique characters of jazz. Even his name and youth are somewhat of a mystery. He was born Herman Poole “Sonny” Blount and grew up in Birmingham, AL. He subsequently changed his legal name to Le Sony'r Ra and proceeded to dissolve any connection to the Blount name and his past. But he had a reason: he stated he had been abducted by aliens and returned to earth to spread the word through music. He had been transformed into one of the Angel Race and was from Saturn.
But the focus of this article is on his music, the key gift to us mere mortals. His bands operated as communal organizations, attracting powerful musicians to stay with his Arkestra for decades. Although not commonly known to jazz aficionados, some of those musicians included John Gilmore (a Coltrane influence), Pat Patrick, and Hobart Dotson. Sun Ra is often classified as a “free music” player. But it is in his earlier recordings, with occasional snippets on other albums, where his delightfully composed and arranged music garnered the greatest interest. His best work came from when he blended what he learned arranging for Fletcher Henderson with his evolving ideas to create orchestral gems--these are the ones to look for. They include: Jazz in Silhouette, Sound of Joy, Sun Song, and Nubians of Plutonia. Just don’t let his uniqueness, personal history, and just plain weirdness get in the way of hearing his music. We've got quality used A/V products on consignment at very attractive prices. Consignment makes sense. Buying or selling—either way you save. Every month we add new items to the consignment list (see it at the end of this newsletter). We even have music on consignment—CD's, LP's and even Laser Discs.

How Consignment Works
At consignment businesses, consignment fees typically run as high as 50% and 60%. But we've kept ours at 40% for years. CONSIGNMENT OPTION 1
Full-service consignment, which means we display,
advertise, present and demonstrate your gear, just as we do our own new gear.
We handle any customer inquiries (send them pictures, specs and other relevant
information) and find a buyer; we process the payment and deliver the gear to
the buyer; we handle after-purchase questions and issues and mail you a check
for the net proceeds from the sale.
For full-service consignment, Consignment Option 1,
the fee is 40%. CONSIGNMENT OPTION 2 Consignment Level 2 is the same as Level 1, but you keep the gear until it’s sold. We advertise and promote your gear, handle customer inquiries (send them pictures, specs and other relevant information), find a buyer and handle the sale. But once it’s sold, you deliver the item to the buyer yourself. We send you a check for your net proceeds from the sale. For Consignment Option 2, the fee is 25%. Increase Your Proceeds by 10%: This is simple. If you leave your proceeds from the sale on account with us to apply to your own product purchases here at Sweet Home Audio, we reduce our consignment fee by 10%. IMPORTANT NOTE: When we sell a used item, we do our very best to represent the product exactly as it is. This is very important! One of our most critical operating principles is that "we deliver what we promise." This is not just a slogan for us but the way we actually operate. When we have the used item here in our store, we can verify the operational status and physical condition of the products. When we don't, we try to get pictures and other information about the items so that we gain confidence that the product is as stated. In these cases, we also delay payment until the buying customer has received the item and verified that it truly is as promised. Existing agreements: Needless to say (but here it is anyway!), all current consignments that we now have will continue under whatever agreement was made at the time of the consignment. The above Consignment Levels apply to all new consignments. Of course, our policy to deliver what we promise applies to everything we do. mode to 25 wpc Triode mode from the comfort of your listening chair. This
amp is gorgeous and performs every bit as good as it looks. This is our

Conrad-johnson
LP70S: This is one of the best tube amps you'll ever hear. With 70
watts per channel, this sweet amp has the guts to drive most loudspeakers to

this unit sells for $7,500.
Adcom
GFA-5400: This stereo power amp from Adcom delivers 125 watts of
conservatively rated power per channel. With over-sized power supplies and
mono block construction, this 2-channel amp will work wonders for your speakers.

Adcom GTP-602: This preamp has it all. With its built in stereo
tuner and phono stage and every adjustment you'd hope to see in a full-function

NAD L-73:
This is the complete electronics package for your home theater system: it
includes a high performance 5-channel amplifier, excellent preamp/processor, RDS

YBA YC201: From the design genius of YBA's labs, this beautiful CD player
will make you smile all day long. It's built like a tank, a beautiful
tank, and sounds sweet and true. This is our demo unit. It sells new for

Fatman iTube:
Here's one you'll like: this iPod docking station with hybrid tube integrated
amp and remote control is a winner. Ours comes with piano gloss bookshelf
loudspeakers and warranty. It makes your iPod or MP3 player sound like
music. This is our shop demo unit. New, with Fatman speakers it

Operetta AP-5140A: This is Jaton's 5-channel modular amp. I have to
say, I love this little amp! It delivers 70 wpc into 8 ohms and 140 wpc
into 4 ohms. This is one of the smoothest solid state amps I've ever
heard. It really does sing. New this one sells for $1600.
Music Hall MMF-5.1: This complete turntable system is a great way to get
into vinyl records again. Our demo model comes with upgraded Grado Silver1
phono cartridge. It's a great unit. With upgraded cartridge, new
this one sells for $950.
Jaton Lyra HD-661 DX Loudspeakers: In their Piano Black gloss finish,
these speaker impress at first glance. Once you hear them, you won't
believe their price is so low. These demo units are in mint condition.
New, they sell for $1600.
Yamaha RX-V630 AV Receiver: This 5.1 AV receiver is here on
consignment. It is in great shape and is an excellent starter home
theater receiver or replacement for your old receiver. It sold new for
$499.
Yamaha RX-V620 AV Receiver: This is another consignment 5.1 channel AV
receiver that looks good and works perfectly. This unit sold new for $499.
Yamaha RX-V1500 AV Receiver: This is a 7.1 AV THX certified receiver.
It also is a consignment unit and it's in great shape. It sold new for
$850.
Yamaha DVD-S540: This
consignment unit is a versatile DVD player. It handles DVD+R/RW, CD-R,
CD-R/RW, VCD and MP3 playback. This one is in great shape and it's priced
to go. It sold new for $250.
Pioneer DV-59AVI: This is a consignment piece
that should fly out of here at this price. This is a "universal" player,
capable of playing CD, DVD, DVD-Audio, SACD and a full range of your personally
recorded discs. The Elite model is the top of Pioneer's line and this was
one of their best. It sold new for $1,600.
Sony DVP-CX985V: This consignment 400 disc DVD/SACD delivers superior
audio and video and helps you organize your entire DVD collection. New it
sold for $720.
Sony MDS-JE320: This is another Mini-disc recorder from Sony. These
are getting very hard to find. This is a good one. New, it sold for
$300.
Yamaha GE-60: Here's a graphic stereo equalizer that will help the audio
performance of your challenging listening room. It will allow you to
tailor the frequency response of you system to your liking. Nice unit.
Sold new for $380.
KEF Model 60S: These are small (10" tall, 7" deep) satellite speakers that
are perfect for surround sound or small desk-top speakers. Here on
consignment, these speakers can be adjusted to fire throughout a wide range

Thiel CS2: Classic
speakers from one of the finest speaker manufacturers around, these CS2 speakers
are here on consignment. They're in good shape and the sound very

Rotel RSP-960AX:
This consignment preamp/surround processor is excellent for stereo music as well
as your surround sound movies. This one is in great shape and is priced to
get you moving. New, it sold for $600.
Rotel RB-930AX: Here is the perfect companion for the above Rotel pre/pro.
It puts out 30 wpc of very musical sound. New it sold for $250.
ProScan PSLD40 Laserdisc/CD Player: Here's a LD player that works like a
charm. One of the best in its day, this consignment unit is in very good
shape. (pictured is the PSLD41 - this one looks very similar to the picture).
New it sold for $450.
Pioneer CLD-1080 Laserdisc Player: This consignment Laserdisc player will
bring your old LDs to life. It's in very good shape and works just fine.
New it sold for $600.
Laser Discs:
Here on consignment are over 50 classic concerts and movies on this very
interesting digital format. Pick up one of the LD players above and grab
some exceptional AV recordings to play on it. All of these Laser Discs are
now on sale for HALF PRICE. 
Direct TV HR 10-250: This Satellite receiver with 250 GBs of memory (up to
200 hours of TV programming can be recorded) is in great shape. If you
have satellite TV, this device is one you should pick up. On consignment,
it's available at a great price. New, it sold for $699.
Sony HD200 SAT: Here's another Satellite receiver with plenty of memory to
record all you favorite programs. You'll need a DirecTV satellite.
New, this consignment unit sold for $799.
Zoethecus Z-2: The picture shows the 3 shelf version of this rack.
Our consignment unit has just the two shelves. It's in near perfect
condition and truly makes an audible difference. New, this consignment
unit sold for $1,200.
