News posted October 1, 2007:

Here's a bunch of news!  We've moved and changed our name!  We are now Sweet Home Audio, home of beautiful sound!  For over 10 years, we have enjoyed associating ourselves with St. Cecilia.  She, of course, is the patron saint of music and musicians.  The connection made perfect sense to us since we are patrons of music ourselves and spent most of our efforts helping like minded individuals.  We have discovered, however, that many people assumed that we were connected with the Church and even among those who didn't, most had no idea who St. Cecilia was.  We want everyone to know who we are and what we do.  So, we've renamed ourselves with a moniker that tells it like it is.  We are Sweet Home Audio.

We've also relocated our store.  With the new construction on US 19, finding our store and getting to it became a big problem.  While our new shop is smaller, it is easy to find and get to and it better supports the evolution of our operation.

Store hours:  We are now operating on an appointment basis for most of the week.  To best serve our customers, we now do a great deal of in-home consulting.  To make sure that we give you all of the service and attention that you want, we will coordinate our schedule with you so that when you come in to our new shop, we'll be able to give you our full attention.

We have set aside Wednesdays from Noon until 7:00PM for open house, drop-in, no appointment necessary time.  Just come on in to bring your consignments or take a look at what we have.  On other days, just give us a call and let's set up a time for you to come in.

We have been looking for an affordable way to get MP3/iPod music servers to sound good enough to justify their inclusion in a high performance audio system.  We have found a solution in the wonderful Fatman iTube system.   For just $649, this tubed integrated amp with its very slick iPod docking station really does the job!

Oops!

It has just come to our attention that our old email address (brovinsky@scsoundgallery.com) was still posted as our contact address for general information on this web site.  Due to the huge amount of spam that we had been receiving at that address, we discontinued it a couple of months ago.  If you have sent us an email at that address and did not receive a response from us, we simply did not receive it.  We sincerely apologize!  Please contact us again at our new general information email address  info@scsoundgallery.com or our sales desk at  sales@scsoundgallery.com.

News posted February 2004:

New Trade-in and Trade-up programs!

It is our intention to be the kind of audio store that you need and want to help you achieve your goals for your home audio system.  We have received numerous suggestions of how we may better accomplish this (and we always welcome your suggestions!).  The most frequently requested service is a trade-in and trade-up program.  So, effective immediately, the following programs are in place:

Trade-up Program:

As most of you know, in selling used gear, you usually lose as much as 40 - 50% of your original purchase price and you usually have to deal with an unknown person who may or may not deal with you honestly.  This can be costly, particularly if you are on a fairly fast upgrade path or like to change your components frequently.  By offering this program, we hope to make this process both safe and affordable for you.

For any audio equipment that you purchase from us (loudspeakers, electronics, or cables), we will allow you 90% of your purchase price as a trade-in allowanced toward any similar product (CD Player for CD Player, amp for amp, etc.) that you purchase from us within 12 months of your invoice date and that costs at least twice what you paid for the traded in item.  To get the full 90% allowance, your trade-in unit must be in excellent condition.  So, take good care of your audio gear!

Trade-in Program:

We have to pay the bills, so we must have some positive cash flow on every transaction.  The following is what we've come up with that will, hopefully, be workable for all of us:

We will accept trade-ins for an allowance of up to 1/3 of the purchase price for any new piece of gear that you purchase from us.  Trade-ins must be in good condition, fully functional and appropriate for an audio store such as ours.  The amount of the allowance offered will be 80% of the Orion Audio Blue Book retail used price as listed in their most current edition.  This is considerably more allowance than the wholesale value of your gear.  This will give you a reasonable allowance for your used gear (approximately what you, theoretically, would get selling it on the open market).  Original packaging, manual and all accessories should accompany the trade-in unit.  If you are missing any of this,  we may have to adjust your allowance somewhat (we'll talk each such situation through on an individual basis).  If your computed trade-in allowance is greater than 1/3 of the price for the new product that your are buying, the excess allowance will go on account for you for future purchases under these same provisions.

What do you think?
